Custom Kaliber pieces are made to suit a particular idea, person, or occasion. It might be a variation of an existing design, a different material or size, or a new piece built around a clear brief.
You can also send us casings you've shot, bullets from your own hunting, or other meaningful materials to build your piece around. That makes it truly yours—a reminder of the hunt, the moment, or the person it was made for.
The process starts with a conversation. Get in touch with a short description of what you have in mind. Include:
- Type of piece (ring, pendant, earrings, etc.)
- Preferred materials (we can also use casings you send)
- Approximate size
- Budget
- Any deadline you need it by
- Reference photos if they help explain shape, scale, or detail (we won't copy another maker's work)
What happens next
We'll review the request and let you know whether it's practical with the materials and methods we use. Not every idea suits recycled bullet casings, brass, silver, or acacia wood. If something won't work reliably, we'll say so and suggest a simpler option where possible.
Once the direction is clear, we confirm the design details, expected cost, and estimated completion time. Work begins after those points are agreed and any required payment has been arranged. If the design changes after approval, the price and timeline may also change.
What to expect
Custom does not mean factory-perfect or identical to a computer image. Recycled casings and natural wood vary in colour, grain, markings, and dimensions. Handmade work can also show small differences from piece to piece. These are normal parts of the materials and process—they're what make each piece unique.
If you're sending your own casings, we'll use them as the centrepiece. The character and markings of your specific round become part of the story.
We use the agreed brief as the basis for the piece. For more involved work, there may be a check-in before final finishing. Clear feedback at that stage helps avoid unnecessary changes later.
Timing
Lead times depend on the complexity of the design, material availability, and the current workshop schedule. A straightforward variation of an existing piece usually requires less time than a completely new design. If the piece is for a birthday, anniversary, or other fixed date, tell us at the first enquiry. Rush work may not always be possible.
